PONY : “Every Little Crumb”

PONY, the Toronto-based grunge-pop duo made up of Sam Bielanski and Matty Morand, first caught attention with their single “Freezer,” which they released back in June. Now, they are back with a fresh track titled “Every Little Crumb.”

“Every Little Crumb” features a captivating mix of sweet pop vocals and gritty guitar riffs, reminiscent of bands like Veruca Salt and that dog. The song explores the emotional toll of being in a challenging and regretful friendship. Bielanski sings poignant lines like, “Forgetting every little thing I ever cared about / Wilted like the sun is running out / Realizing you’re the one thing I can live without.” These lyrics encapsulate the feelings of loss and liberation that can come from recognizing when a relationship is no longer healthy.

In the Bandcamp notes, Bielanski explained their unique approach to creating this song. She shared that Matty composed the instrumental track, while she worked separately on the lyrics and melody. This method was new for her, and she admitted feeling a bit intimidated by the process. However, she ultimately enjoyed the freedom it offered, allowing her to focus on her thoughts and how she wanted to express them through her singing.

With this release, PONY continues to carve out their distinct sound, blending emotional depth with catchy melodies. Fans are excited to see where the duo will go next as they evolve their musical style.
