Faye Webster kicked off the year with her latest album, Underdressed At The Symphony, showcasing her unique indie sound. Recently, she hosted the YoYo Invitational in California, and today, she returns with a new release: a sprawling love ballad titled “After The First Kiss.”
This track serves as a contrast to one of the standout songs from her album, “But Not Kiss.” While “But Not Kiss” explores themes of restraint, “After The First Kiss” plunges into the depths of immediate obsession and infatuation. Webster sings, “I woke up lost in her room / After the first kiss / Asked for her last name, ’cause I never knew,” all delivered with her signature enchanting vocals over dreamy chords.
The music video for “After The First Kiss,” directed by Kyle Ng, adds a visual dimension to the song. It features a whimsical LARPing battle and includes her girlfriend, the musician Deb Never, further enriching the narrative of the song. You can watch the video below.
