Stefanos Barbalias, the talented singer-songwriter and composer from Greece released his latest single, “Out of Faith” on October 29, 2024.
It is the first single from his most recent musical work. For Stefanos Barbalias, it has been a path of growth and discovery. He has built a musical life that feels like an endless practice session, driven by passion and persistence.
In this interview, we talk about their journey so far, the inspiration behind his latest song Out of Faith, and what’s next for his music.

Cocomyrrh: How would you describe your evolution as an artist over the years? Are there key lessons or milestones that stand out?
Stefanos Barbalias: Like a cardiogram. From pure happiness and confidence to unhealthy insecurity to seeing things from a different perspective.
Moving to London, coming back to Athens, gradually creating a day-by-day musical life, like an eternal rehearsal for a gig that’s never gonna be.
Cocomyrrh: What has been the most rewarding part of your musical journey so far?
Stefanos Barbalias:: The musical journey is a reward on its own and I’m grateful to keep travelling.

Cocomyrrh:  If someone were listening to your music for the first time, how would
you want them to describe the essence of your work?
Stefanos Barbalias: I wouldn’t, if they had something to say i’d be all ears to listen.
Cocomyrrh: Great work on your recent release, “Out Of Faith”. What inspired you to write this song?
Stefanos Barbalias: Thank you! Moments you’re about to burst and you’re in desperate need
of immediate relief.

Cocomyrrh: “Out Of Faith” is the first single from your upcoming musical work. Can you give us a sneak peek into what we can expect from the rest of the project?
Stefanos Barbalias: Let’s say “Out Of Faith” stands at one end of the spectrum as the most
upbeat song and the rest of the songs fall on the other side.
Cocomyrrh: Out of Faith is a song about navigating through personal struggles, societal pressures, and the desire for authentic, meaningful connections. Was it based of a personal experience?
Stefanos Barbalias: Yes.

Cocomyrrh: What message do you want your audience to take from this song? Is it that of hope or assurance?
Stefanos Barbalias:: I’m not interested in communicating messages. Not even specific emotions. I just don’t want something to be indifferent.

Cocomyrrh: Would there be more collaborations on your upcoming work?
Stefanos Barbalias:: Yes definitely! Collaborating with super talented people in their field and giving them absolute freedom to do their thing is a new found joy for me and i intend to keep it up.
Cocomyrrh: What are your aspirations as an artist?
Stefanos Barbalias:: I’d love to get to a point where I only deal with the music and the practical side is somehow taken care of.
