In The Shadow of Time by SHYFRIN ALLIANCE

London-based writer, scientist, and musician Eduard Shyfrin known as Shyfrin Alliance just released his second debut album “In the Shadow of Time” a seven-track blues-rock album that takes on one of the biggest themes imaginable: time.

Following the success of the of his 2024 debut Upside Down Blues which earned major radio play across the US, UK, and Europe and passed half a million streams, this new release shows the group growing in confidence, creativity, and purpose. When it comes to deep ideas, Shyfrin alliance is no stranger. His bestselling book From Infinity to Man blends Kabbalah, science, and quantum physics, and In the Shadow of Time continues that exploration but this time through music. As Shyfrin himself says, “I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time.” And he’s right; this record stands out for its focused, conceptual approach.

In the shadow of Time is a real mind bender in the best way possible. The album is a special one and the theme makes it even more profound. I’ve spent time listening to the album and each track dives into a different side of Time, basically the album is about it. How we deal with it, how it affects us and what it all means.

The album was recorded with some top French rock musicians in Paris and the sound is fantastic. It’s classic blues rock, but with this cool, almost cinematic texture. Eduard’s voice elevates it; deep and strong enough to ground the whole experience while he sings about his whole idea. This album portrays exactly the kind of man he is: Fearless.

The album might give you two vibes. First, the single Buddha Blues would have you humming for days. There’s this feel-good blues-rock groove, excellent guitar solos and a soulful chorus. The message here is simple, that time heals us. This is an uplifting track and might have you tapping your feet to the groove.

Then you’re hit with the title track In the Shadow of Time, this one is more dramatic. It captures the moment where time becomes this scary, formless thing that controls us. The bass heightens and Shyfrin’s voice begins to sound like a warning. He likens this force to an abstract painting particularly the Jackson Pollock painting —abstract, confusing, and impossible to fully understand. You know it’s there, but you just can’t grasp it. The music captures that feeling perfectly.

One notable and interesting part of this album is the blend of straightforward blues-rock with big, thought-provoking ideas. The guitars, rhythms, and vocal style come from classic blues traditions, but the lyrics and themes push the music into new territory. Spirituality, science, and philosophy appear across the album, giving listeners something to think about long after the music ends.

“I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them,” Shyfrin says. That spirit defines this album. Instead of repeating the success of their debut, Shyfrin Alliance chooses to push forward, take risks, and explore new musical and conceptual territory. It’s rare to see a blues-rock project take on such a big theme with this much confidence.

In the Shadow of time is a music that satisfies your cravings for a great riff while also challenging your mind. Even with these heavy ideas, the songs remain accessible and emotional. The arrangements are carefully built, the performances are tight, and the overall sound stays warm and inviting. Shyfrin’s deep voice adds weight without losing a sense of openness.

If you like Music that tells a story and challenges your mind to think out of the norms then you found a music just for you. Shyfrin Alliance is making music for the like of those who love to stand out. It’s smart and frankly, the time to listen to him is NOW.
