Self-described as a good witch and a highly intuitive, multi-talented creator, Audren’s main goal is quite simple yet profound: to use her art to heal. She’s best described as a Healer who helps people heal through art.
If her name sounds familiar, you might remember her from years ago. She was the inspiration behind a character in the massive hit video game Darkstone (which sold over a million copies) and her song “The Darkstone Will Shine” was a global sensation. Without a doubt, she makes great music and her new album isn’t just a comeback, it’s a total creative rebirth born from her personal wounds.
When Audren was first starting out, David Guetta listened to her music and told her: “We’re not playing in the same field. You make music for musician.” She took those words as a compliment, and it confirmed her unique musical identity. On Think Freedom, she stays completely true to that complex, polished signature but balances it with beautiful melodies that anyone can fall in love with.
To bring this vision to life, Audren teamed up with her life partner- the brilliant guitarist and producer Chris Rime along with their talented daughters, Sydney and Jemily. They brought such a spark to this album and we can’t argue that it’s nothing short of perfect.
One thing absolutely lovable about this record is how Audren refuses to stay in one box. She challenges herself like the true indie-pop experimentalist that she is, floating effortlessly between pop, jazz, rock, folk and funk. Her voice is one for the books; Warm, incredibly soothing and packs a massive range with stunning falsettos but she never shows off just to show off. Every note is purely sharing raw emotion.
Listening to the tracks in this record makes you want to escape the stressful, copy and paste world we live in. The album which perfectly kicks off with the acoustic first track “A new page” and closes with a mesmerizing, mystic groove that stays long in your head “True Love”. Every track on this album brings rhythm that effortlessly pulls you out of your chair and onto the dance floor.
Think Freedom is what a sincere project looks like. It’s power comes from honesty and melodic grace. Audren has a way of looking at a tough world with absolute clarity, while still maintaining a gentle, loving rebellion. As Audren herself says; You realize that you must demonstrate foresight and sagacity if you don’t want to end up like a Lab rat. Don’t trust the media. Never follow the herd, instead follow your instincts.
