Super Pyramid – Comment If This Is Paradise

If you’ve been looking for an album that feels like a deep emotional journey wrapped in gorgeous sounds, Comment if This Is Paradise! by Super Pyramid is exactly what you have been looking for. Ben Rowley, the creative heart behind this project, has crafted a stunning debut packed with rich melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and a unique blend of old-school songwriting with modern twists.

Ben Rowley isn’t your average musician; he’s a true explorer searching for new sounds and inspirations wherever life leads. After leaving his hometown and finding himself in Montreal, he joined a tight-knit group of creative minds and started shaping the music that would become Comment if This Is Paradise.

The road wasn’t an easy or smooth one for Ben. He had to deal with a breakup which became the inspirational theme behind the album; A theme of Loss and moving on. Then the pandemic scattered his bandmates back to their families, and a freak accident left him with a concussion, slowing down the album’s progress. These struggles gave birth to the raw powerful feeling that we can feel in this album.

This body of work feels like stepping into a dream where classic songwriting embraces modern sounds. Picture the warmth of string instruments next to crisp, electronic vibes and a newness that pulls you deeply in. Ben’s voice feels like a close friend, sometimes soft and vulnerable, other times soaring with confidence.

Super Pyramid has a style of its own, it’s special and nothing close to the regular as the songs flow between big, sweeping moments and quiet, personal ones, keeping you hooked from start to finish.

On this project, Ben worked with Isaac Symonds from Half Moon Run, whose beautiful string arrangements and silky backing vocals add an extra layer of magic. The album begins with “Before & After You,” a gentle, piano-driven track that triggers a reflection on love and memories. Then comes “Better Angels,” which sounds cheerful but hides a deeper sadness underneath its catchy beat. “Slow & Easy” is a standout, combining personal storytelling with lush strings and bright horns. It feels like a conversation you never knew you needed, tender and powerful. The final track, “Never Better,” is stripped down and honest, with a touch of humor about life’s never-ending search for meaning. It’s a perfect way to end an album full of beautiful contradictions.

Comment if this is paradise isn’t just a catchy phrase, it’s a question. What does paradise look like? How do you know when you’re there? Ben’s album doesn’t answer those questions outright, but it gives you an insight to find your own meaning. Maybe paradise isn’t a place, but the feeling of searching, hoping, and experiencing life’s ups and downs.

If you’ve never listened to Super Pyramid, this album is just the introduction to his world. Every track you experience is a burst of energies, one that’s good enough to keep you glued. Enjoy the mystery, sitting with feelings of happiness, sadness, and wonder all at once. Super Pyramid offers something special — a thoughtfully written album that gets better the more you listen.
