TIA BRITTANY – Don’t Talk Feelings

Australian songwriter Tia Brittany steps into a new chapter of her artistic journey with the release of her latest single Don’t Talk Feelings, from her album DTF built around honest emotions, personal experience and an intense storytelling. This single gives the audience a closer look into the honesty that surrounds her music.

Based in Sydney, Tia Brittany brings together Contemporary Pop and her love of Film to create songs with a personal touch while also telling a bigger story. Her approach to Music is shaped by a creative background that transcends beyond songwriting and singing. She has studied psychology, trained at the Australian Institute of Music, studied acting and is currently co-writing a television series.

She also trains in classical opera with respected vocal coach Maria Timofeeva. From time to time, she receives additional guidance from her husband, Andrew Goodwin, one of Australia’s leading tenors. All of these different experiences have played a role in shaping the way Tia-Brittany writes, performs and tells stories through her music.

With this single, Tia Brittany explores vulnerability and the difficulty of dealing with emotions. That willingness to be open is an important part of what gives the track its character.

Don’t Talk Feelings also give listeners an idea of what to expect from DTF as a whole. The album brings together contemporary pop and cinematic storytelling, reflecting Tia-Brittany’s long-standing love of cinema and her interest in creating stories that connect with people on an emotional level.

Her songwriting isn’t all about just putting melodies and words together. It’s a way of exploring real experiences and making them into something other people could understand and relate to.

Brittany collaborated with John Ho and Daniela Rivera for this album. Their contribution to the project has been an important part of bringing the album together, and their belief in the material gave Tia-Brittany greater confidence in its potential. Their support encouraged Brittany to pursue Grammy consideration for the project. That encouragement strengthened Tia-Brittany’s belief that DTF could reach listeners beyond Australia and connect with an international audience.

Tia Brittany’s connection with storytelling doesn’t end with music. Her love for cinema has become an important part of her creative work, and that can be seen in the visual world surrounding DTF. She worked with internationally recognized filmmaker Pauline Chan. The collaboration is part of a wider creative relationship between the two. Tia-Brittany and Chan are also continuing to work together on an upcoming television series alongside Geoff Newton.

This connection between music, film and television is an important part of understanding Tia-Brittany’s creative direction. She is interested in telling stories through different forms rather than keeping each part of her work separate. The music provides one part of the story, while the visuals and screen projects offer another way for her ideas and experiences to reach an audience.

There is a deeply personal side to Brittany’s music. One experience that has had a major impact on her life was caring for her mother while she underwent Breast Cancer Treatment. That period strengthened Brittany’s resilience and influenced her perspective of life. It also contributed to the emotional honesty in her songs today.

Her interest in psychology also influences a part of her work. Studying the way people think, feel and respond to life gives her another perspective when writing about emotions and relationships.

Tia-Brittany’s work is already beginning to attract attention in Australia. Her growing profile has included coverage in The Daily Telegraph in Sydney, adding to the attention surrounding her developing career. As her audience grows, she is building an identity that goes beyond releasing individual songs. Her work across music, film and television gives her several ways to tell stories and connect with audiences.

At the centre of it all is Don’t Talk Feelings, a song that reflects the vulnerability and openness that define the album. It is also a clear example of the kind of music Tia-Brittany wants to make—music that comes from real experiences and gives listeners something they can connect with.

With ‘Don’t Talk Feelings’ leading the project, Tia-Brittany is opening the door to a body of work that is personal, emotionally direct and shaped by her love of both music and cinema.
